Frank Lucido MD
Frank Lucido MD has been serving the East Bay community since 1979. While trained and certified in the practice of conventional medicine, he respects the benefits available from alternative therapies, and works well with other practitioners of your choice. Since passage of the 1996 Compassionate Use Act (“Prop 215”), Dr. Lucido has also been performing Medical Cannabis Consultations.
“What is not typical about my practice is that even among the limited number of doctors who are performing medical cannabis evaluations, I am one of the few who does them in the context of a full-scope general medical practice. I have worked to develop my own standards by reading the scientific literature, learning from the experience of other practitioners, and through application of my past experience in making clinical decisions.”
“My goal is also to continue the work we have begun towards normalizing medical cannabis practice. I would like to see more primary care physicians (and treating specialists) give safe and appropriate recommendations for medical cannabis, since they know the patient best, and have the best documentation of the serious illness for which they have been following the patient. But until medical cannabis and its safety become more widely known to the primary care and specialist community, there will be a need for medical cannabis consulting physicians as a specialty, to fill the compassionate need of many sick patients.”

I have been a patient of Dr Lucido's for the last 15 years. I find him to be a top class doctor and I trust him completely to assist me in looking after my health. He listens, is detail oriented and has a great group of colleagues in his practice also. If you need a health care professional I would not hesitate for a minute to recommend him.
Dr. Frank Lucido and Nurse Practitioner Maria Mangini are the best anywhere. I'd recommend them to anyone who's looking for skilled, caring, respectful, informative care. They take the time to do a great job, and the staff is excellent. The location is very easy to get to by public transit, by car (there's free parking) or on foot. They truly care about their patients and about the community, and have a holistic approach to health care that can't be beat. I wouldn't trade them for a million dollars. A more dedicated team of integrity you will not find.
Dr. Lucido is an excellent physician as well as a knowledgeable and interesting fellow. I have been seeing him for over 15 years and in this day and age of huge health care organizations it s a breath of fresh air to be able to go to a neighborhood doctor's office where one can feel like a person, and not just another patient number. He is also involved in the medical cannabis movement and provides very thorough and well documented recommendations, unlike many of the fly by night doctors you see listed in the local papers. If you actually have a serious medical condition and are thinking about using cannabis Dr. Lucido is the man to see.
Dr. Frank and Maria are excellent primary care providers. They take incredible care with their work, and truly concern themselves with their patients well-being. The balance between their approaches provides for an incredibly holistic health care experience. If you want experienced, attentive and thoughtful primary health care, this is the place for you.
